The Electric Heating Company have developed their product portfolio to accommodate any central heating and hot water requirement from the comprehensive Comet PV Electric System to the SlimJim Electric Flow Boiler our product knowledge and technical assistance is unrivalled in the heating and hot water industry. Our products have been designed with both the installer and homeowner in mind and as such all the controls used with the products are contemporary and user friendly.
An Electric Boiler operates using electricity rather than a combustible fossil fuel such as gas or oil.
Electric Boilers can come in variations such as Electric Combination Boilers, System Boilers and Flow Boilers. Electric Boilers are 100% efficient, meaning if you pay for 1kW of electricity, you will receive 1kW of heat.
Electric Boilers can sometimes be confused with electric water boilers. Electric water boilers are small appliances which are used to boil water for a tea or coffee. An Electric Boiler is a device used to heat your home and provide domestic hot water.
Electric Boilers are 100% efficient and can work on multiple cheap rate tariffs that are available from most energy suppliers making your system effective and economical to run.
Electric Boilers operate in the same way as a gas boiler where water is circulated through a fully modulating heat exchanger. The heating elements within EHC Electric Boilers are also fully modulating and designed to maximise the surface area of the element to increase overall efficiency. After the water is heated, it then passes through the rest of your home’s heating system to warm your home to your desired temperature setting, room by room.
Reduced Maintenance Costs – Electric Boilers have far lower maintenance costs mainly due to there being no moving parts which you will find within gas, oil and LPG Boilers. Moving parts can cause boiler breakdowns as they will wear over time and require frequent servicing. Although there is no mandatory annual service for Electric Boilers, EHC do recommend that the magnetic filter within the Electric Boiler is cleaned annually to prevent metal particles potentially causing damage to the boiler.
Eco-Friendly Heating Solution – The SAP10.1 carbon factor associated with Electric Boilers, expected to be introduced in 2020, is 0.136kgCO2 per kWh. This means that for every kWh of Electricity used, only 0.136kg of CO2 is produced. This is the lowest of any fuel types that can be used to heat your home, and for comparison, the carbon factor associated with Gas is 0.210kgCO2 per kWh.
Safety – As Electric Boilers don’t use any combustible fuel there is no risk of gas leaks or carbon monoxide leaks, making Electric Boilers safer than alternatives.
Quick & Easy Installation – Electric Boilers are easier to install than other heating solutions. There is no requirement for a flue as there is no internal combustion within the electric boiler. This means that an Electric Boiler can be placed almost anywhere within the property.
Low Installation Costs – As Electric Boilers are fairly simple and easy to install, the overall cost of the installation is much lower than a gas boiler and there is no requirement for a gas mains to the property. This also helps reduce running costs as there will be no gas standing charge on your energy bill.
