Considering a Comet Electric Combi Boiler?
Electric heating is continually becoming an increasingly viable option for heating properties in the UK. New Government legislation heralds a change in how SAP determines a properties ERP Rating – to almost the same as gas. This change allows widespread use of electric radiators and electric boilers, which are widely understood as having low installation costs, no flue requirement, low maintenance, rapid heat up times and high efficiency. This modern method of heating is shaping up to be a popular choice for the future of home heating within the UK.
Electric Heating Systems are 100% efficient at the point of use. If you pay for 1kW of electricity, you will benefit from 1kW of heat. This is much higher than alternatives which can lose heat through flues etc. When paired with solar PV panels, efficiency of electric heating systems improves, and the carbon dioxide produced reduces.
Electric Heating systems are said to last 50% longer than oil or gas boilers. This is largely due to electric boilers including no internal moving parts, which massively reduces the risk of a breakdown or wear and tear in comparison to other heating alternatives. There is also no mandatory annual service, which is an average cost saving of up to £100 per year.
The Comet Electric Combi Boiler offers the comfort and convenience of wet central heating and domestic hot water for domestic properties with no access to mains gas.
It is a fully packaged unit that is housed in an elegant enclosure and comes complete with the option of a 9kW, 12kW or 14.4kW Comet Electric Boiler with a 140 Litre Indirect Stainless Steel Hot Water Cylinder. It is pre-plumbed using the ‘S’ Plan configuration and has an in-built magnetic filter for boiler protection. Also incorporated within the unit are pre-wired Zone Valves and the Expansion Vessels for both the Heating and Domestic Hot Water.
What are the advantages of an Comet Electric Combi Boiler?
Reduced Maintenance Costs – Other kinds of boilers have more moving parts, which can cause breakdowns in comparison to Electric Boilers which have no moving parts. In heating systems with biomass boilers, wood pellet boilers and other combustion boilers, pipes can sometimes need replacing over time.
Save the Planet – When an electric boiler is running, it has a lower carbon footprint than combustion boilers.
Safety – As there is no combustible fuel within an Electric Boiler, there is no risk of gas leaks and no risk of explosion.
Easy Installation – Electric Boilers are easier to install than other alternatives. There is no requirement for a flue as there is no combustion happening within the boiler. This means that an Electric Boiler can be placed almost anywhere within the property.
Low Installation Costs – As Electric Boilers are fairly simple and easy to install, the overall cost of the installation is much lower than a gas boiler.
