In recent years, and going forward the term ‘Eco-Homes’ is one that we will all hear a lot more of. They are sold as highly efficient, cheap to run and environmentally friendly homes, the future homes we should all be striving for. However it seems that it isn’t working out as hoped for some ‘eco-home’ owners.
A recent article in the Daily Telegraph detailed how a street in Bradford lined with so called ‘Eco-homes’ was not as efficient as the home owners had hoped, with one particular home owner receiving an electricity bill of £2,000 per year since 2011. Other home owners explaining how their annual energy bills are now double what they were in their previous, traditionally powered, homes.
