Building on Momentum
After the major success of COP26 in Glasgow last year, it is time to turn our attention to the current conference, COP27, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The main focus of this years event is to build on the pledges and commitments made in Glasgow last year and begin implementing the strategies discussed. In short; it’s time to take action.
There have been several published reports highlighting the gravity of the climate crisis and the need for immediate and sustained impactful action. We will continue to hear about the drive to ‘Net-Zero’, but we will hear it with much more urgency than ever before. We pride ourselves on offering electric heating solutions that contribute towards the UK Governments target of achieving Net-Zero by 2050. Traditional heating methods burn fossil fuels that contribute to high CO2 emissions and steps have been taken to phase these out. Legislation now stipulates that as of 2025, using gas boilers in new build homes will be unlawful. We can see this growing demand for heating and hot water solutions that are sustainable and Eco-friendly even more and are proud of the fact that our complete product range is designed with sustainability in mind.
The dream for most would be to heat our homes comfortably, efficiently and inexpensively; whilst also reducing our carbon footprint. If you have the financial capabilities and the desire to go green with your energy, this vision is very possible. Electric heating systems are PV compatible and can be powered from renewable energy resources such as solar power or wind power which are also free from CO2 emissions.
As we move towards a decarbonised electricity grid, modern electric heating is set to become the most attractive option when it comes to specifying a heating system. Rapid response, 100% energy efficiency, smart control, electric heating offers building designers a technology that provides comfort, control, style and cost that customers demand.
Electric heating already has benefits, such as rapidly heating a room when it’s required, and low installation costs provides an affordable option for homeowners. The units can be placed anywhere within the property and have no requirement for a gas flue or the same pipework that is required with a gas boiler. All that is required is an electrical connection.
Further benefits of using Electric Heating systems are:
Reduced Maintenance Costs – Other kinds of boilers have more moving parts, which can cause breakdowns in comparison to Electric Boilers which have no moving parts. In heating systems with biomass boilers, wood pellet boilers and other combustion boilers, pipes can sometimes need replacing over time.
Safety – As there is no combustible fuel within an Electric Boiler, there is no risk of gas leaks and no risk of explosion.
Easy Installation – Electric Boilers are easier to install than other alternatives. There is no requirement for a flue as there is no combustion happening within the boiler. This means that an Electric Boiler can be placed almost anywhere within the property.
Low Installation Costs – As Electric Boilers are fairly simple and easy to install, the overall cost of the installation is much lower than a gas boiler.
