Sales of Electric Radiators in the UK Heating Market have increased dramatically over the past few years due in no small measure to significant improvements in design and controllability. Previous types of electric heating, particularly night storage heating, were uncontrollable and inflexible with the main complaint from homeowners being heat to the property was unavailable when needed most. Modern “direct acting” electric heating allows the homeowner to regulate the times and temperature of their heating system to suit their lifestyle. These systems are not to be confused with antiquated storage heating systems which depend on an overnight charge of electricity.
Electric heating products have been proven to be affordable to operate when on the correct electricity tariff however with the increasing popularity of installing Solar PV, electricity bills can be cut substantially. Not only will the householder benefit from the electricity they use, they will also receive a set rate for electricity produced but not used.
In addition to the flexible heating system, various radiator colours are now available. Previously electric radiators were available in white or cream only, however there has been a considerable rise in the number of homeowners requesting coloured radiators. To compliment the décor of the modern home, electric radiators can be supplied in any of the 900 RAL colours available.
All standard white radiators are available for next day delivery with RAL coloured radiators available 21 days from receipt of order.
In addition to the various colours available, electric radiators are available in various sizes and outputs from low height conservatory style radiator (340mm high) to vertical (1240mm) slimline radiators in a range of outputs.
The Electric Heating Company (EHC) offer the complete range with a choice of thermostatic controls or time and temperature controls.
The future of heating is electric as the reserves of the UK’s natural gas diminish and the relative increase in gas prices continues to be greater than that of electricity. As the development of renewable electricity through low carbon electricity sources such as Solar, Hydro, Wind and Wave technology increases, and progress is made on clean coal technology, electricity will be the green fuel of the future.
